2026 Study UK Alumni Awards Winner - Honouring Leadership, Innovation and Purpose
Precision Diagnostics are immensely proud to congratulate our CEO, Dr. Rebecca Tay, on being named a UK Alumni Awards Winner under the Business and Innovation category.
This recognition followed a rigorous selection process from a highly competitive pool of applicants with significant leadership across the region, with the final evaluation conducted by five prominent Asia-Pacific industry leaders from global organisations including Microsoft, AirAsia, and Shopee. We are deeply honoured that Dr Rebecca have been selected as the winner.
Dr Rebecca’s journey is deeply personal. Having lost her biological mother to cancer at the age of 39, she carried with her a lifelong question:
Why do treatments work for some, but not for others?
Why do treatments work for some, but not for others?
What began as a personal loss became a professional lifelong mission.
From her days at the University of Nottingham, where a Problem-Based Learning session explored whether pharmacogenomics would change the field of medicine, to contributing to national pharmacogenomics implementation strategies alongside the Ministry of Health and IMR / National Institutes of Health, her work has consistently centred on one goal: building healthcare that is more precise, more personalised, and less harmful.
Under her leadership, Precision Diagnostics continues to advance gene-guided clinical decision-making, strengthening drug safety, improving treatment effectiveness, and ensuring innovation remains grounded in-patient care, especially across diverse Asian populations.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the British Council and the University of Nottingham for recognising alumni whose work shapes industries, communities, and healthcare systems beyond borders. Not to forget Institute for Medical Research (IMR), National Institutes of Health Malaysia (NIH) and Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) for their leadership.

Dr Rebecca Tay Sook Hui is the CEO of Precision Diagnostics, a dual PhD holder in Pharmacy and Molecular Medicine. A passionate advocate for precision medicine and pharmacogenomics, she is committed to improving medication safety and treatment outcomes through clinically guided genetic testing. Under her leadership, Precision Diagnostics has developed innovative precision healthcare solutions that support healthcare professionals in making more informed and personalised treatment decisions based on an individual’s genetic profile. Dr Tay also actively collaborates with leading healthcare institutions, researchers and industry partners to advance the clinical adoption of pharmacogenomics and shape the future of personalised healthcare.
